The hostel sits right on the beach; rooms are small but well equipped, and the burgers at the restaurant taste great. The village has everything you need for a nice stay—good restaurants, cozy cafés, a beach to relax or surf, and crystal‑clear water. It’s a perfect escape from city life, and although there’s a manufacturing site at one end of the beach, it doesn’t cause any noise or disturbance, so we didn’t notice it.

It’s right by the beach, but the beds are extremely hard, the shower is odd, and it’s far from the actual Gangneung area—about a 2‑hour trip including a bus wait.

I stayed at a hostel right next to a surfing school, practically on the beach. The setup was very simple: beds and a clothes rack. Everything was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and it was quiet. The staff spoke a bit of English. When checking in, they couldn’t find my booking confirmation—probably the booking platform sent the info late—but they resolved it calmly and let me in without fuss.

My friend and I found the spot perfect, right in front of the sea, which let us relax and enjoy a quiet place as we had hoped. The only hiccup was that the Wi‑Fi in our room wasn’t working properly, but that was just a minor issue.
