The renovation was done extremely well, except for the removal of all the train artifacts; the rooms were comfortable and beautiful, and we felt lucky to stay during the last week of operation. I hope LOGE will not tear down the historic Inn and subdivide the property—greed always seems to win out in the end. It was a huge mistake for the new owners to sell off 99.9 % of the train memorabilia during renovation; the hotel literally sits on the tracks in one of our country’s most iconic locations, and cutting off the train enthusiast as a customer is baffling. A small museum for the amazing collection that took decades to build would have been better—so sad to see this place close.

My stay was a blend of positives and negatives. The location was a highlight, but I was let down by the unprepared ski trails despite the snowfall. The restaurant served basic meals at high prices, like a $22 cheeseburger. On a more positive note, the “schoolhouse” suite we stayed in was quite nice, which was a redeeming aspect of our visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, primarily due to the nostalgic feel of the place, which truly transported me back in time. There were no negative aspects to my visit, making it a thoroughly pleasant experience.

While I appreciated the hotel's great location off the highway and the nice outdoor hot tub, there were significant drawbacks. The room was extremely small and faced the railway tracks, which was quite a disturbance. Given that the hotel wasn't busy during our stay, I was surprised that we weren't upgraded to a better room, which would have made our experience much more enjoyable.
