The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the room offered a view of Cotopaxi. Getting in was a bit tricky, but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.
“Great guesthouse with amazing owners”
The owners went above and beyond to help us arrange the last‑minute Cotopaxi summit, making us feel truly welcome and offering advice on exploring the area and gear for Cotopaxi. Their homemade meals were superb, and on clear days you can see Cotopaxi from the garden.
The hotel was very friendly, with excellent breakfasts. The managers were pleasant and helped us organize our Cotopaxi visit, and the shower was hot. Nothing negative.
“Comoda, hogareña, tranquila, agradable.”
The host staff were very open about local spots and how to get around, giving great tips. The atmosphere felt homely, and the heaters in the rooms helped with the chilly weather, making sleep easier. Breakfast was delicious, and dinner, lovingly prepared by Mrs. Patricia, was also fantastic. In good weather, Cotopaxi is visible from the accommodation. The rooms are small, but if they were larger, it would take longer to warm up before settling in. I had no negative comments.
The hostel is quiet, located in a safe area, and a bus stop on the Panamericana is about 10 minutes away. Buses to and from Quito stop there, though drivers often don’t know the stop’s exact location. It’s a good spot for couples or families. When traveling alone, there’s literally nothing to do; you’re an hour from Latacunga (the bus stops in front of the house), and the only shop is a gas station with an ATM. The other guests were a small family who weren’t eager to interact, so I found it dull. I liked the Cotopaxi tour, but the Laguna Quilotoa tour felt very touristy with many extra stops and performances.
