There was a washing machine, dishes, and a pot—great! I made instant dumpling soup at the supermarket and ate it. My son said the tatami was prickly.

The owner was very friendly and even offered to move his car so I could park my motorcycle under the carport! Near the hotel (just a few meters away) there are many onsens thanks to natural hot springs. The apartment didn’t have a shower, but with so many onsens it was tolerable; you just have to be prepared.

The location was good, close to Hell Valley, and the next door bathhouse let me shower and soak.

I was able to relax for a long time, which was great; there are plenty of hot springs nearby and the room has basic cooking facilities. The light switch for the Japanese-style room is on the umbrella of the lamp, so it’s hard to reach if you’re short.

I appreciate that the accommodation was kept as a traditional home and that payment was charged on arrival rather than at booking, which is useful when travel plans change. Thanks, Happy Neko.
