Casa Formosa Baleia

We had an excellent stay at Casa Formosa. The experience was very pleasant from arrival to departure. It offers everything needed for a great stay. The location was also very good and helped us make the most of our rest days. We also highlighted the hosts’ attentiveness and friendliness, which made us feel very welcome. We definitely recommend Casa Formosa and hope to return soon.

“Sem conservação e manutenção adequadas”

The only bright spot was the beach‑front location right in front of Canto Mágico at Praia da Baleia. The place was turned into a mix of a guesthouse and hostel, but the structure was in terrible disrepair, lacking proper upkeep. There was no room‑cleaning service. When we arrived, the toilet in our room was broken, the sink had no water and the shower was dry. We couldn’t shower that first night because a man only came the next day to fix the water tap that had been turned off. Breakfast was very basic, with no variety and no utensils for the food; my husband had to ask for milk because it wasn’t on the counter. There was no front desk or staff on duty during the day; access was by electronic lock with a code. The pool area looked abandoned, poorly maintained, and the waterfall was off. The front of the house was dirty; we found a dirty cotton swab near a Buddha statue that hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Window curtains and awnings were dirty and torn. The basin lid had smeared stains, the sink was cracked and patched. We were supposed to stay four nights but left early. The owner clearly neglects the property, and the cost‑benefit ratio is not worth it.

“Localização excelente, melhor impossível”

The location is the best you can get, practically on the sand. The beach area is nice and there are stalls for drinks and simple food. It’s about a 12–15 minute walk to Barra do Sahy, where you’ll find several restaurants, a bakery/market, and a pharmacy. The staff are always very attentive and ready to help with whatever you need. On the first day the bathroom water had a weird smell, but the team fixed it the next day after we reported it. Another issue was also resolved satisfactorily. The parking spots themselves aren’t tight, but the street is too narrow, making it hard to maneuver long cars. I had contacted them beforehand and they advised me to use a larger spot.
