Everything was immaculately clean, the double bed was extra large, and the bedroom window offered a nice view. There was plenty of parking. We didn’t see the hosts when we arrived because they had to leave, so we picked up our key in the conservatory. We weren’t aware of the house rules – whether there was a separate sitting room or if we were supposed to sit in our rooms. The bedroom itself was spacious and well‑equipped, with plenty of tea, coffee, and water options and a nice view from the window. The bathroom was a short step from the room, so it wasn’t en‑suite. The shower cubicle was very small and only had an overhead shower, which wasn’t practical for us. A shower cap was provided, but it was the same as the food covers you buy from Temu, and my thick hair didn’t fit. We thought £10 each for breakfast was a bit high; we had cereal, two slices of toast, a yoghurt, and tea or coffee. Apparently this only applied if you had booked – it wasn’t mentioned when you book. There’s plenty of parking, which is nice, and the place is very close to the town centre, shops, museums, etc. We would definitely stay again, but we’d skip the breakfast and go to a local cafe or Wetherspoons.

The room was beautifully styled, had everything I needed, and was very clean. Jayne and Andy were very welcoming and even introduced us to their friendly dog 😊. Nothing I’d dislike.

The Apple Tree has a gorgeous garden just a short walk from the centre! The room was spotless and cozy, and the breakfast with fresh fruit was delicious. Andy, the host, was very helpful and friendly.

Breakfast was amazing. The only downside was having to climb the stairs with luggage.
