We enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Fuji Teppanyaki, just a short walk from the hotel; it was a relaxed, intergenerational, no‑frills, deliciously authentic local spot that my daughter and I loved. However, our room was opposite the entrance to the men’s onsen, which felt inappropriate. I booked a studio, not a regular room, yet it was no different from any other room we stayed in while touring Kyushu. The studio photos made it look like it included a separate onsen with teacups, but the room pictures did not show them, which was misleading. Unlike other onsen facilities that open early, the teacups weren’t available until 10 am for an extra fee, so after having used a public onsen earlier that day it didn’t make sense to pay extra that night; we ended up using the hotel onsen down the hall instead and had to delay our plans to use the teacups, which were still cute.

The room was spacious, with a separate toilet and bathroom, the location was good, and the staff were friendly. You have to pay for the tea‑cup onsen, but it was a really good experience. The room was a bit dusty.
