Glendale Hotel

The restaurant was nice and the staff were friendly, there was a fan in the bedroom, and tea or coffee were available but no bottled water. In the room the curtain fell down, the shower water was so hot I couldn’t rinse my hair – either too hot or very cold – and it was rather dusty. When I asked about bottled water, a short rude man told me tap water was fine to drink and I was charged £5.20 for a glass bottle of spring water, more than twice what I’ve paid at Waitrose.

“It enabled us to visit an attraction as planned otherwise wouldn’t recommend or stay again .”

We had to pay extra for breakfast so we declined it. The bar was great and the location was good, but the room was very dated with visible mold.

“Some poor aspects”

The bed and location were good, but the cold water tap in the room didn’t turn on, I couldn’t unplug the bathroom sink, there was no mat in the shower to prevent slipping, there was no breakfast menu to view beforehand, and when I called reception about the bathroom plug no one offered to come up to fix it.

“Great location and friendly staff.”

The location was lovely and the staff were very helpful. The room was great with plenty of space, and breakfast was first class. No complaints.

“Viel erg tegen”

The distance from the train station was good and the night was relatively quiet. Our luggage was supposed to be delivered to the room because we arrived early, but when we came back to the hotel at night our luggage was still left open and exposed behind the reception where anyone could have seen it. The shower had poor water pressure and was hard to get hot. The sink in the room leaked, so I had to put a towel in the sink.
