They gave more tea bags and milk when asked, but the cleanliness was poor: the wash hand basin wasn’t properly cleaned, bedding had stains, the mattress was upside down and unusable until we stripped it, turned it over, and remade it, even though the label on the mattress clearly said that was the only way to place it. The corridors to the bedrooms had an unpleasant smell, the initial supply of tea bags and milk was very short, there were no hangers—just hooks—and they were over the heater so clothes couldn’t be hung without covering it.

When I arrived, I had to wait to be allowed entry to reception ‘for security’. The area was totally run down, unsafe, surrounded by drunks and drug addicts, so I went elsewhere without checking in.
