We turned up to find the doors locked and no one answering the phone when we called. No explanation was given, so we had to keep looking for another place to stay. Not the welcome we were hoping for.

The owner was incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.

The castle itself was a real charm—quiet, tidy, and the staff were genuinely friendly. Service felt solid and the room was comfortable, though the breakfast was pretty basic, just enough to start the day. A few more local specialties would have made it perfect.

Our room overlooked a peaceful park, and the large flat‑rate apartment was nicely appointed and cozy, with great bedding and a buffet breakfast that even included soft‑boiled eggs. The only downside was being on the second floor while the elevator was out of service, which was a bit of a hassle.

Stayed in a beautiful room inside a lovely castle just a short drive from Durbuy—everything was clean and the setting was picturesque.
