“A great, low cost option for visits to Durham and surrounding areas!”
We picked this spot for its price and proximity to Beamish Museum, just a short drive away. It was listed without breakfast, yet the host gave us basic cereals, fresh milk, fruit juice, and more, which was a bonus. Plates and cutlery were provided, and we could bring local takeaways back to the room. The facilities were exceptionally clean, with the room refreshed daily, which was unexpected for this price.
“Very cosy and convenient for visit to Durham. The host Barry was very friendly and helpful.”
They provided cereal for breakfast with fresh milk and yogurt at no extra cost, and there was nothing else to complain about.
“Very good value for money!”
The owner is a wonderful man, helpful, considerate, and did his best to assist whenever I needed it.
The landlord took great care of us; the room was clean and well-equipped, including breakfast with cornflakes, yogurt, fresh milk, and tea and coffee facilities. Sacriston is ideally located for Durham, a 25‑minute bus ride (No 16) away. The inn has a good sized private car park. Sacriston, a former mining village, proudly displays its industrial heritage with well‑kept gardens showcasing mining equipment. Several food shops and takeaways—burgers, pizzas, fish and chips—are nearby. The only small issue was the lack of BBC channels on the TV; the landlord said he would re‑tune it over the weekend.
“Great place to stay.”
Spotlessly clean, well‑equipped, great shower, quiet, comfortable bed, tastefully decorated, and a great guy running it – wish we’d found it earlier so we could have stayed longer.
