Crowne Plaza Cabana Hotel by IHG

After staying at many different hotels in Palo Alto, Crown Plaza has become my favorite. The staff always treat me very well, every time I stay there. I work in construction and spend a lot of time at Stanford Hospital and LPCH; when we have shutdowns I stay at Crown Plaza. When I check in, it’s after working 12 hours in my work clothes and unlike the other hotels in the area I get treated with respect and have received upgrades and great rooms. Unlike the others. I can’t stay longer.

I was glad to find the hotel close to my destination, but I wish they offered more vegan and vegetarian options.

At about $360 USD per night, I was very disappointed that the hotel added an extra $22 per night for parking. The breakfast schedule shown for the weekend was inaccurate, causing more inconvenience. The biggest problem was getting an invoice: the hotel said they couldn’t provide one because the reservation was made through a third party and that invoices are only issued for direct bookings, yet they also state that guests should contact the property to receive an invoice. I explained this to the staff, but they were unhelpful and made no real effort to resolve it. For a hotel at this price point, I expected much better customer service and clearer communication.
