How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
The staff were friendly and the location was close to restaurants and bars. The room, however, had a strong stale odor; the bathroom smelled of mold and the water had a bad taste. After reporting it to the staff, they claimed the smell was present throughout the island. We decided to look for other accommodation where we could shower, so we moved. They later told us the water was clean, but it seemed they had added bleach or chlorine to mask the problem temporarily.

The room was basic but the air conditioning worked well and kept the room nice and cold. The bed was comfortable and the price was good value. The gentleman at the desk was lovely. I had to hold the shower head and lower the water pressure, but I can’t really complain – it’s a small island and a cheap homestay.

The owners were very friendly and the facilities were good. The bed was comfy. It didn’t have hot water and cost £16 a night. It’s common for there not to be hot water on Gili T, however I don’t think £16 is good value for money.

The room was lovely, the bathroom was a good size and there was a mirror/dressing table. The location was good, 10 minutes from the main harbour and 20 minutes from Turtle Point and Sunset Beach. The staff were helpful, very smiley, and offered bike services and excursions. The shower was really cold with no option to warm it and the bathroom had a damp/sewage smell. The lamps and TV didn’t work, which was also a shame.

Eieren av Akalanka was incredibly friendly and helpful, and seemed to run the place alone. The price was very good and there was air conditioning in the room, which we found very important because the island is very hot. The cat that lives on the premises was very friendly and sweet too. The location is great. If you’re looking for a higher standard you’ll have to pay more, and there’s limited options on the island. All in all, we have nothing special to complain about.
