Khaosok Monkeys & River Camps

You have to experience this for yourself; you’re in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by running and swinging monkeys, which is an adventure in itself. You’ll have to deal with all the noises that continue day and night. But if you want something special in Thailand for a few nights, definitely go here. It was the start of the rainy season, so the rain was a bit of a nuisance.

We were on the river and didn’t realize that walking across would bring us just minutes from the town centre with cafés and bars. We stayed in the cottage with a veranda overlooking the river, and it had a really cool and unique bathroom. The accommodation was very rustic. There’s a restaurant on site. The surroundings were quiet and beautiful. The bed was the hardest mattress I’ve ever experienced.

Everything was beautiful and the staff were super kind and courteous. Nanny is truly friendly and fun, as are all the other colleagues. I highly recommend this place 😊

“Ok, wouldn’t stay again but monkeys made the stay amazing”

Monkeys were amazing to see! An amazing location and close to the town although it’s difficult to get transport. The cabin we stayed in was nice but too hot as you have to wait 30 mins before the aircon kicks in. Room is very basic and expensive for what it was. The bed was rock hard as if you are sleeping on a pavement. Most of the staff are sweet but the 1 lady on reception is very unapproachable, unhelpful and rude. When I asked for something to make the bed less hard she was rude and wouldn’t help, we asked someone later on for an extra duvet to use on the mattress and they were happy to help

“¡Volvería a repetir!”

We loved the surroundings because you’re in the middle of the jungle and can hear all kinds of insects and animals. The staff were very friendly. The breakfasts were amazing (the best in the entire stay in Thailand). The store was very clean and comfortable. We also took a safari night tour with them, and besides enjoying it a lot, they brought us and picked us up to bring us back to the hotel. When we arrived they told us there was a problem with our tent and switched us to another one. The tent they gave us was actually better because it was larger, but it wasn’t the one we wanted because it wasn’t in the middle of the camp but at the reception. We would have preferred to be given a tent identical to the one we booked (but they were still very kind and the change was already made once we arrived). Regarding the camp itself, the only thing that didn’t go so well was that there were too many bugs in the sink. We’re in a camp in the middle of the jungle, so it’s normal to have some, but we hardly used the reception sink for that reason. Instead, a sink a little lower down was cleaner.
