“Run-down, outdated, mediocre hotel on top of a large, busy Italian restaurant”
Breakfast was minimal but nice, and the renovated downstairs looked very good, yet the hotel feels like a distant afterthought to the restaurant and public areas downstairs, as if they run independently; the downstairs area resembles a 4‑star place, but once you reach the elevator the experience drops to a worn 2‑star feel. The sign saying the lift is temporarily out of service (but the stairs work!) has hung on one of the two elevators for two years and will probably never be fixed; they should just cover it and admit they only have one elevator. That remaining elevator is old and worn, like the hallways. I’ve never had major issues with rooms before, but this time I got one that had the toilet seat under the toilet paper mounted to the wall so you have to wedge a leg between them to use it, while the other side had plenty of space for proper installation—evidence that staff don’t care enough about comfort. The restaurant and bar are nice, but the menu is expensive for the area and astronomically overpriced for the quality of the hotel, which is not to say the hotel is cheap. I stay here because of its proximity to work, and I would stay elsewhere if a more convenient option existed.
