The hotel feels like a trip back in time, with rooms that look like 5‑star accommodations from the turn of the century. Breakfast was modest but plenty. In the hotel’s pub we ate out twice and were thoroughly impressed. However, the gardens around the property are almost too dangerous to visit because the stairs are broken, so that’s a missed opportunity for the venue.

The château, the welcome, the staff’s kindness, the setting—all were wonderful.

The room was gorgeous. No issues.

The quiet spot by the forest edge, the charm of a former manor with original décor, a large room, a big bathroom with both shower and bathtub. The vibe shifts between old‑world charm and a lost place, partly because hardly any other guests stay in the very large, isolated house. Besides a nice pub/diner, there’s no local infrastructure; the nearest minimarket is several kilometres away. The château needs partial renovation. The international service staff are friendly but sometimes seem overwhelmed and not well‑versed in local knowledge. Breakfast is only available from the third day onward, unless you’re on an egg‑diet or love porridge—otherwise it’s a hassle. The “buffet” feels more like a hospital meal; each slice of toast must be ordered separately. Other usual hotel meals aren’t offered, and tea time must be requested in advance, which we skipped because of the breakfast situation.
