The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was consistently very good and offered good value. The central location and car parking were convenient. The room was comfortable and of a good size. The bathroom could have been better lit because its layout made it windowless, a feature of the old building.

“Really lovely and relaxing.”

The historic hotel sits right on the corner of the Towns Market Square, perfect for my 82‑year‑old mum who can’t walk far and for me after two knee surgeries. The staff were incredibly kind—thanks to Nicky, Sophia, and everyone else who helped, even though I didn’t write their names down. They even carried our bags to the bedroom and welcomed my service dog Teddy, which was a big relief since he’s usually not as accepted and that makes me uneasy. I’m deeply grateful to all the lovely staff at this great hotel. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with a suburban shower and a very comfortable, large bed. Bonus: parking. We’re glad we chose this hotel on the way home from a holiday to Hebden Bridge; we’ll definitely stay here again. Breakfast and service were excellent, and the late‑afternoon meal was very good with great service. No negatives—just that in winter I enjoy a bath at night and a shower in the morning.
