We ran into a big problem right away – there was no hot water at all and the water pressure was practically non‑existent. It made even a quick shower impossible.

The only perk was that we were allowed to use the balcony of a neighboring room, but the hotel felt abandoned – we were the only guests there. Our room faced the street, so the noise was relentless through the night, and the front door was locked on arrival, forcing us to ring a lady to be let in. The place reeked of incense that never got any fresh air, the restaurant was closed, and nothing was within walking distance.

The staff member who greeted us was really friendly and the breakfast was decent, but checking in was a nightmare. Our reservation said we could arrive at 15:00, yet the whole building was locked and a sign on the restaurant window pointed to a phone number that didn’t work. After cycling through several dead numbers, a lady finally showed up around 16:00 and got us into the room – we weren’t thrilled about staying, but we went ahead.

It was just okay – nothing stood out, but nothing was terrible either.

The staff member on duty was helpful, getting us as close as possible to the nearest train and bus stops. Unfortunately, the road leading up to the hotel, Meilerweg, is steep and in poor condition, making it a bad location if you rely on public transport.
