The dive center is located in the hotel, the restaurant is good, and there’s a shuttle service to the port. It’s not exactly a first‑class place, but we’re there just to sleep. The only light in the room is a big one, so it’s very dazzling at night.

We were housed in the annex above the diving club and at the restaurant level, with very thin walls that let us hear everything happening in neighboring rooms—voices, TV, snoring. The second day, the shower had no cold water, only very hot water. Breakfast was the worst we’ve had on our trip to Japan, and the bedding was uncomfortable; I had to put a second futon under the first and still felt the wooden floor. A suggestion: put a sign in the bathrooms warning that the door frame is low, which we kept thinking about. The location is close to Aharen beach, though.

Very convenient, just a stone’s throw from Aharen beach and a bunch of small restaurants. The pension picks you up and drops you off at Tokashiki port. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is functional and generally clean, with basic amenities like shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryer, bath towels. You can rent towels and other beach gear, and there are clotheslines on the roof to dry your stuff. The attached restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a good value, mainly Japanese‑style food. After check‑out, you can leave your bags at reception and use the outdoor restrooms if you need to. Nothing to complain about.

We had a fantastic stay at SeaFriend and highly recommend it! We had originally planned to visit Tokashiki during a typhoon, which caused ferry cancellations and prevented us from arriving on the scheduled dates. We reached out to SeaFriend, and the team was extremely understanding and accommodating. They let us shift our stay by a few days without any hassle and kept our reservation. Once there, everything went smoothly: warm welcome, pleasant room, and a very useful shuttle from the port. The Aharen location is perfect for enjoying the island and its beautiful beaches. Huge thanks to the whole team for their flexibility and help, especially during such an unpredictable typhoon situation. We’ll definitely return!
