“Prima verblijf op een praktische locatie in Ehrwald”
The hotel sits in the center of Ehrwald, and you can also pick up a guest card for public transport at the front desk; the bus stop is practically at the door. The room is fine and meets expectations, and the breakfast buffet is extensive, though some days it gets very busy and noisy, with long lines for the coffee machine—maybe a second machine would help. It’s also nice that a Dutch woman works the evening shift at reception, making it easy to ask questions or handle small issues. During our stay we did two hikes: the first started from Ehrwald Alm to the Zugspitze, but when we reached Knorrhutte we found out the last gondola left at 16:30 instead of 17:30, so we missed the final leg and took the gondola from Sonnalpin to the summit. Luckily we caught the last gondolas and the bus back to Ehrwald on time. The next day we tackled the Seebensee and Drachensee hike, covering almost 27 km and 2,000 m in two days. We also had power issues in the room on two evenings when using the hairdryer, but the Dutch‑speaking reception resolved and compensated the problem promptly.
