They took our money but the hotel was locked up. They gave either gone out of business or this is a scam. They took our money but the hotel was locked up. They gave either gone out of business or this is a scam

We booked early, had several emails, even one about early online check‑in, yet when we arrived in the afternoon the place was locked. A driver in a hire van parked beside the hotel said it had closed a few days earlier and gave no reason. Luckily the next‑door hotel where we ate lunch could spare us two rooms for the night. We never received any cancellation notice from the original hotel.

We were left on the street after the hotel closed; we’d travelled to St Andrews and had no warning that the Hiotel was shut down – very disappointing.

The location was fine, but the hotel didn’t honor our reservation when we arrived and we had to scramble for other lodging.
