We stayed only two nights, the last stop of our Tuscany trip, but it was still wonderful! The owner is very warm and helps with everything daily. The food is fantastic, I can only recommend the half‑board. The pool is great for hot days and the peace there can only be enjoyed. Absolutely a recommendation! A few more shaded spots by the pool would have been nice, but that’s really high‑level whining :-)

We were treated superbly, personally attended to. The garden room liked us very much, it was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast is small but fine and only stocked with local products. Dinner is fine and advisable to take at the accommodation, because the place is far outside the nearest town and the night walk is rather challenging! Everything was super.

Locanda Fontelupa is a very special place that we have not experienced in Italy before. From the moment we arrived, Giuska and the whole team welcomed us incredibly warmly and personally. This special warmth runs through the entire stay, never seeming forced. An absolute highlight for us was the culinary experience. We also ate there in the evenings and were thrilled by the quality and concept. The ingredients come exclusively from local producers and are organic – you simply taste that here not only food is cooked but very consciously selected. Every dish was wonderfully fresh, authentic and at the same time refined. Even breakfast was extraordinary: only high‑quality, fresh ingredients, healthy, delicious and with an incredible love for detail. Sitting outside in this beautiful setting makes the whole thing an experience. What also impressed us particularly was the interior design. This is far more than a nice furnishing – the whole design is extremely individual, stylish and executed with a very clear sense of aesthetics. For us truly one of the most beautiful and extraordinary interior concepts we have seen in Italy so far. You constantly discover new details, and yet everything still feels completely harmonious. The combination of heartfelt hospitality, extraordinary cuisine, local organic products and this special interior design makes Locanda Fontelupa for us a truly unique place. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely come back.

We were very warmly welcomed and our dogs were taken to the cottage. From the start we felt very comfortable, like a second home. The property is absolutely well maintained and offers all the amenities needed for a stay in Tuscany. The selection at breakfast is large and the products fresh, the dinner is also highly recommended. Only the shower could be a bit larger or equipped with a handheld shower.

“More than just a beautiful place to stay, Fontelupa was an unforgettable dream!”

It is difficult to put into words just how special our stay at Locanda Fontelupa was. I have been visiting Italy since I was young, and staying in the Italian countryside had always been a dream of mine. I found Fontelupa on a whim, in a part of Tuscany I had never visited before, and I can honestly say the photos do not do it justice. It is even more beautiful and charming in person. The hospitality was exceptional from the moment we booked. Sharon was incredibly responsive and helpful, and when I explained that I am a strict vegan, they assured me I would be well taken care of. They went above and beyond: from wonderful breakfasts (including a delicious slice of vegan cake that I still think about!) to incredible vegan options at dinner. On a night when Fontelupa’s restaurant was closed, they even made a reservation for us at a local restaurant and contacted them beforehand about my dietary needs. The dinners at Fontelupa were so special that after our first one, we chose to eat there two more times. The food was wonderful, but what we loved most was the atmosphere: the hospitality, conversations, and feeling of community. We genuinely wanted to be part of everything Fontelupa had to offer. Giuska is one of the most hospitable people I have ever met. She gave us wonderful recommendations for beaches, towns, and places to explore, but what truly amazed us happened after we left. When she learned we were spending our final night in Rome, she called the Bulgari Hotel and arranged a beautiful happy hour for us. We were no longer even staying with her, yet she was still trying to make our vacation special. That gesture says everything about the kind of hospitality you will find at Fontelupa. I have had many wonderful experiences throughout Italy, but Fontelupa was truly one of the most memorable. I still dream about this place and sincerely hope we can return someday. That we had to go home!
