If you’ve ever wanted to stay in a castle, Burg Rabenstein is the place! The location is majestic, the surroundings are beautiful, and the authentic medieval vibe makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. It’s a truly special spot to experience history and create unforgettable memories, so I highly recommend it. The only minor downside was the bed – it wasn’t as grand or luxurious as the magnificent setting warranted.

I spent wonderful days at Burg Rabenstein, and the evening event with the preceding menu was very appealing. The food at the Burgschenke didn’t match our expectations, but that’s just a matter of taste.

The tour was amazing and the guide was really knowledgeable; the special stay in a castle makes the lack of TV or usable Wi‑Fi endearing. The rooms were a little poorly designed, with an extractor in the toilet but not in the shower, so steam build‑up was massive. Giant bugs everywhere nearly broke my neck running from a massive flying creature in the shower.

The castle sits alone in a beautiful landscape high above the Ailsbachtal, and it was wonderfully quiet there. The castle is very nicely furnished with great old furniture, and the blazing fireplace in the lounge on the evening we stayed was a real highlight. Breakfast was very good, offering everything one could imagine, and the staff were also very friendly. The lighting in the room is a bit dark, otherwise there is nothing to criticize.
