We stayed 1 week there as a family of 3. Very clean hotel with excellent polite staff. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were worth it 100%.

Excellent breakfast. Very good dinner. Good beer. Parking was available. Beds were very comfortable. We didn't have time to visit the spa and pool. :(

The location was spot on, and we could bring our dog, even getting a dog bed and water bowl for the stay. The staff were friendly, though the hotel lacked a indoor pool and some wellness options that we didn't use because we were out all day. The rooms were a bit noisy, and the door in our room didn’t close well, so whenever someone came into the hallway the draft from the other door would make a clacking sound, which woke us up at night and was quite unpleasant.

Overall, the Hotel Katharina is acceptable. Central location, right on the sea, staff are nice and helpful. I’ve stayed there five times and always got a great Superior double room. On this stay, two adults and an 11‑year‑old child were put in a Standard double room. The booking was for a Superior or Standard double, so as a frequent guest I expected a better room (note to management). The room next to the elevator was very noisy from 6:30. The breakfast buffet has been the same for years and its quality is declining. Maybe change the jams (always the same three for five years), replace the coffee machines or even set up three machines during peak season. This year the coffee tasted flat and the machines were constantly being cleaned. Worst: lovely hotel, you have 4 *, please ditch the wooden spoon and go back to real coffee spoons! Also more dish cleanliness.
