“Angeles Guest House.”
The air‑conditioning setup keeps the rooms cool, so I usually turn it off since I don't need that much cold air. Many guests come to see or visit Preston, the Australian owner; I enjoy his stories and the hospitality of his private home on site, and I've gotten to know his whole family, including his wife, kids, and their children. There are many types of rooms across 4 or 5 buildings with various arrangements for air‑conditioned and non‑air‑conditioned stays, all featuring warm water showers. The TV is never working, always broken or some excuse. Wifi is good if you get the number for each zone; the porch has a different code than the rooms, so with a smartphone you can be self‑entertained and use their wifi. I have stayed here 4 of the 6 months I have been in the Philippines. The biggest reason is it is inexpensive, the cheapest in town, and it meets my expectations. If you want plush, go somewhere else. The bed is hard, you have privacy, and the staff is nice enough.
