The food was ok. The new ownership and false advertising were disappointing; the room, restaurant, and bar were all cold for the two days we were there.

The spot is great, but the £10 fee for a tiny, well‑behaved dog feels steep—half that would be fair. I always bring my own sheet to keep the bed clean when the dog jumps on it.

The room and beds were ok. Poor standards of customer service Breakfast wasn't until 8am not specified anywhere on the site, we had made arrangements to meet at 730am so couldn't stay. We arrived at 5pm for an after 3pm check in was not expecting us, despite emails stating they were, and didn't have a room available until 10pm so we had to make other arrangements for the evening. Bathroom was too small couldn't shower as no shower curtain. Next time I in the Lake District will stay anywhere else
