“Dirty apartment and horrible host”
Avoid this place unless you enjoy cleaning on your own vacation. We arrived to a genuinely filthy apartment: dirty floors, crumbs and food residue on tables, shelves, and inside the fridge, dust on nearly every surface, a soiled sponge with hair left in a drawer, ants all over the terrace, and spiderwebs throughout. This wasn’t “a detail overlooked” – it was a general failure to clean the place at all before our arrival. We had no choice but to clean it ourselves, which took two of us five hours on our first evening, plus we had to spend our own money on cleaning supplies. What made it worse was the host’s response. He was unreachable for days because he was on holiday himself, with no one covering for him, so nothing was fixed while we were still there. When he finally replied over a week later, he initially apologized and promised to look into compensation – then, after “checking” with the same cleaner responsible for the mess, simply denied there had been a real problem and offered EUR 70, a fraction of what we’d reasonably asked for (and conveniently equal to his own cleaning cost, not our losses). The response is denial and a low‑ball offer instead of taking responsibility. We won’t be booking here again, and we’d think twice before trusting the listing photos over what you’ll actually find on arrival.
