“A delightful experience not to miss!”
This place is beyond ordinary; it delivers a truly authentic vibe. The selection of onsens and baths is fantastic, and even the smaller 24/7 ones, though not huge and only partly outdoors, have everything you need for a good soak. The larger open/outdoor bath is stunning, and I can only imagine how wonderful it would feel on a chilly autumn day. The service is flawless, friendly, and overall excellent. It sits just a short drive outside the village, which makes it very peaceful, but the free shuttle keeps it convenient. The food is superb, offering a great mix of Japanese cuisine, and both breakfast and dinner were highlights—though a bit pricey, but we’re not complaining. The village itself is a pleasant stroll. The house we stayed in was charming, with tatami mats and other nice touches that add to the authentic feel. The private in‑house bath and onsen are nice extras. I’ve never been to a place with so many soaking options!
The only drawback, tied to that authenticity, is that the beds—and especially the chairs—aren’t designed for comfort.
