Located in the Vatra Dornei mountain resort, Hotel Carol is 50 metres from the centre. The spa centre features saunas, a hot tub, and a salt room, with Finnish and infrared saunas available at a surcharge. Free WiFi is provided. The hotel offers flat-screen TVs, seating areas, and private bathrooms with toiletries and hairdryers. Ski slopes are 150 metres away, and a panoramic lift is 300 metres from the property.

I recommend this hotel. The location is excellent, just a stone’s throw from everything. It’s a beautiful hotel reminiscent of the late 19th century, with very friendly staff, a rich and varied breakfast, and a decent spa. The welcome card from Tara Dornelor, received at check‑in, highlighted some points of interest we wouldn’t have thought of without scanning the QR code. The downside was the staff’s handling of the morning train departures—too early for us, and I’m not sure if any sound‑proofing could be added.

The property’s location is good. It doesn’t meet typical hotel standards; it feels more like a pension or motel. The room did offer complimentary water, coffee, and tea.
