“Descaso total com hóspede”
I stayed at Pousada Santa Mônica from 5 to 7 September during the holiday. When we arrived there was no receptionist; a guest who was leaving helped us, and later a gas station attendant under the rooms was the only staff present. The first room was in subhuman and dangerous condition: the bed had no mattress, just a pillow top on slats—impossible to sleep on; the toilet was filthy, with murky water and a strong chlorine smell; the electric shower had exposed wiring (shock risk); the tap and shower water were murky; the TV didn’t work; the power board was stuck with duct tape (fire hazard). We asked the attendant for a room change, but he said there were no vacancies even though we had a confirmed two‑night reservation. We slept the first night because it was already 20:30 pm and the holiday left no other options. The next day, after pushing another attendant and the cleaner, the manager finally moved us to a decent room, but the damage and embarrassment were already done. The critical points were total abandonment of service—guest and gas station attendant acting as reception; safety risks (exposed wiring, makeshift power board); lack of basic hygiene (murky water, dirty toilet); and disregard for the reservation—room change denied the first night, only resolved after forced escalation. I demand compensation for the days of discomfort and risk (we already notified Booking). Warning to other guests: avoid this place. What they sell as “cozy” is actually a place with no management present, poor and dangerous infrastructure. Don’t be fooled by the photos. If you’ve already booked, insist on a different location before check‑in. We lost a night and almost the entire holiday because of this irresponsibility.
