The room was fantastic, the bed was very cozy, and the layout was exactly what I needed for a night’s stay.
The motel was clean and had a retro vibe, with rooms that stayed warm and cozy during cold, wet weather; dinner at the on‑site restaurant was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful, though the breakfast options were limited.
“Disappointing and unwelcoming.”
The electric blanket and extra heater were handy, but otherwise nothing much. There was no front desk staff, the key was hidden in a box and we only found out by calling. No ice maker, the shower was weak, and the view was just a car park. Walpole was mostly shut on a winter Sunday, and the single nearby restaurant offered very limited food.
The property was neat and clean, the staff were welcoming, and the restaurant was pleasant.
I stopped here for one night and it was enough, but the staff were always shouting or on the phone, the restaurant was closed and the only local spot was a pub. A car is a must; there’s no bus or taxi to the attractions.
