“A bug a day keeps the travellor away.”
I appreciated how the uniformed doorman opened the door for us, tipped his hat, and the classical ensemble in the lobby played soft music live as we entered, while two boys helped carry our luggage to the room. I liked the complimentary champagne in our room and the huge décor, which I recognized as French Renaissance—priceless. The truth is, we never actually stayed; we chickened out after reading many reviews elsewhere, none of us liking bed‑bugs. The weather was a little too hot for our taste, and the crowds of tourists were everywhere, all unloaded from damn cruise ships.
