The food was amazing and the location was perfect, but that's about it.
The hotel's location was a major plus, right in the heart of the city with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
The sauna and swimming pools are very comfortable, and the sea is just a short walk away.
The common areas were spotless, and the staff were incredibly helpful, with most of them speaking good Italian.

“Schönes Hotel mit freundlichem Personal”
The location right on the beach was great, the breakfast was excellent, and the rooms were clean and had back‑friendly mattresses; the Fango treatment and aromatherapy with Therapist Christian were professional, and in the evenings a soft‑food machine was popular with everyone, and even though it was summer you definitely had to try the soups. The only downside is that the hotel also serves as a rehab center for Slovenia, which gives it a medical vibe.
“Hotel Svoboda s soprogo redno obiskujeva 2x letno (jeseni in spomladi) in to nameravava početi tud”
The food and staff were great, and the accommodation and parking were also top-notch. However, I was disappointed to find that the indoor pools were still closed, despite being advertised as opening on October 1st. This was one of the main reasons I chose to stay here, so it was a bit of a letdown. To make matters worse, the indoor pools were included in the price, which felt like a bit of a rip-off. I also missed out on some evening events, which would have been nice.
“Despite the peace and quiet in the hotel we enjoyed our stay”
This hotel is a real gem, with an interior that's truly stunning. Our room was fantastic, and we enjoyed a whole week there without any issues. Despite the summer holidays, the hotel was quiet, and we always had a place to eat breakfast and dinner. The breakfast area was fully booked, but there was plenty of space, so it didn't bother us. It's worth mentioning that there's a medical center next door, but it's nice to see that guests can still enjoy a holiday while they're there.
The breakfast offered a real variety for everyone, the buffet dinner was great, so I’d skip the other menus they offer, and the room with a balcony and sea view was spacious; the restaurant and spa staff were friendly and the pools were great. However, there was no way to adjust the AC in the room, so I kept the balcony door open all night to avoid stuffiness; the pitcher of water in the room wasn’t refilled at all, and one day they didn’t even come to change towels or empty trash cans—housekeeping definitely needs improvement.
“Hotel Svoboda - Strunjan”
The hotel is going through a gradual renovation, which is great to see. During our stay, the indoor pools were closed, but we got a bonus of free beach loungers. The new design of the common areas is really nice and welcoming. Our room was still in the old design, but it had a balcony with a great view of the outdoor pool and the rehabilitation center. The hotel is basically a spa-type hotel, so most guests are over 65 and recovering from surgery. That's something to keep in mind when booking.
