The spot is handy downtown and the hotel has been updated and modernized, with a great harbour view from the room. However, the AC was broken, so on that hot fall day I had to keep the balcony window open to cool the space. Parking isn’t secure either; it’s just street parking in a downtown area that attracts a rough crowd at night, with yelling and screaming, so set your car alarm and don’t leave valuables in the vehicle.

The rooms were newly renovated, but overall cleanliness fell short. I didn’t realize it wasn’t in a great downtown area before booking, and a lot of noise seeped into the rooms. The so‑called “ocean view” actually shows train tracks and unsavory people right in front of the balcony, so privacy was non‑existent. The staff were friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable with a good mattress, and the standard breakfast was included, though more variety in the hot dishes would have been appreciated.

The room was filthy and the sheets were stained like the carpet.

The rooms were spacious and clean, but the exterior of the building needs some upkeep; the staff were great and informative.
