I booked a room in this pub at the last minute. The bar is lively with four locally brewed ales if that’s your taste. The food is absolutely excellent. The staff are very friendly even when rushed. Once the bar closes for the evening, the place is very quiet and there’s no night disturbance, so you get a good sleep.

The inn is exactly as imagined. In the English countryside with attentive owners, a wonderful breakfast and a delicious dinner.

The location is superb, tucked into a quiet Dales village that feels like a community hub. The pub itself thrives on local involvement, with residents and other guests being friendly, chatty, and ready to recommend walks. Warren, the landlord and chef, and his crew truly care about the pub’s success. The dinner menu is straightforward yet flavorful, with extra specials. Even on non‑restaurant days—Mondays feature homemade pizza, Thursdays see a mobile fish‑and‑chips van—there’s a lively vibe. Portions are generous, leaving room for puddings. Breakfast options are excellent and easy to tweak if you want something different. The pub stocks a solid selection of local beers, a varied wine list, and a good spirits range. Our room, the King, was spacious, with windows overlooking the pub frontage; despite being above the restaurant area, it stayed quiet and comfortable. All in all, a fantastic few days, and we’ll definitely return. No complaints.
