“Nice overnight stay at Malgas.”
The spot right beside the Breede River was spot on, and the meals were outstanding!

Its historic architecture delivers an old‑world charm, while rooms feature wood‑beamed ceilings, tea‑and‑coffee facilities, and en suite baths. The place was quiet with a ferry view, the staff were helpful, and the food was good, though we could hear our neighbors’ TV and weren’t sure if it was too loud or just the room was a bit noisy.

The location was lovely and the room offered a river view. We opted for the all‑inclusive package that included dinner and breakfast, but the dinner was absolutely awful—one of the worst meals I’ve ever paid for, with no redeeming qualities or a chef in charge. I’d skip the dinner and eat elsewhere. Breakfast was better. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but turning the lights on required a degree and the bedside lamps were merely decorative because they didn’t work. The whole place clearly needs a facelift; with a bit of TLC it could be an exceptional hotel.

The old‑fashioned style hotel was lovely, and we enjoyed cruising on the Breede River. I’ll return soon to rent a boathouse for a few days. The pont/ferr was not working, but it should be up and running next week.

The service was friendly and the meals were good—nothing to complain about.
