“dont book this”
I can’t think of anything positive—just that we had a roof over our heads. We stayed three nights, and only the first night was remotely acceptable. From the second night onward everything deteriorated. The hotel was an active construction zone upstairs, and the rooms were unfinished. Our rooms were small, dirty, and suffered from serious humidity and ventilation issues. The bathroom/shower area was damp and dirty, with water that didn’t drain properly. Rooms with windows let in constant street noise, and rooms without them felt like a prison cell—no airflow, no light, nothing. The AC stopped working for an entire night, leaving us to endure Cartagena’s heat and humidity with zero relief. To make matters worse, the front desk clerk kept the entrance locked at all times, turning every trip in or out into an unnecessary hassle. On top of all that, they charged us extra for every single luggage hold request—something that should be a basic courtesy, not a line‑item fee. When we raised these issues and asked for a partial refund given how bad the conditions were, management basically refused to take any accountability. The location is also a downside—it sits at the edge of Centro, in a less desirable area, not the lively, safe part of the neighborhood you’d expect for the price. Between the construction hassle, the broken AC, the filthy bathroom, the locked‑door hassle, and a management team that couldn’t care less when we complained, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. We will never stay here again, and I’d strongly encourage others to look elsewhere.
