The hotel turned out to be in a surprisingly convenient spot, right next to the Gold Museum and only a short drive from Jiufen Old Street, with stunning views in every direction. The staff were wonderful, offering friendly and thorough directions to attractions. I stayed in a loft‑style Japanese family room that was extremely spacious, and the double bed was huge. In the evening the lobby served two glasses of red wine (or juice) per person, which set a great mood. The next morning breakfast came on a nine‑section tray with nine side dishes rich in protein and vegetables, accompanied by sweet potato porridge, and it was delicious. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to quietly enjoy the mountain city scenery. The only downside was that the room cleaning could be improved in some of the less obvious corners.
