The staff were good, but the location might be a bit far from the centre.
O’gabek was helpful in organising our 7‑lakes tour with a driver and assisted with our luggage.
“Perfektes Hotel für 3-4 Tage in Panjakent”
The hotel is the newest in Panjakent and has been housed in this building for about two years. It sits on a side street off the main traffic artery yet remains fairly quiet. The rooms are very large and well furnished, the mattresses are excellent, and a large bathroom completes the comfort. The hotel manager doesn’t speak English, but for this season he hired a well‑trained assistant (Amina) who speaks English and German fluently. Both offered us a private guided excursion to the 7 Lakes. We also took two more trips to Iskanderkul and the base camp at Artuch in the manager’s vehicle. Great service! The only complaint is the breakfast: the food is often cold, even the fried eggs, and there’s only stale bread from the previous day. We gave some suggestions for improvement, hoping the hotel will change in the future. There’s a kindergarten with a large playground behind the hotel that is also used by teenagers in the evenings, which can cause noise. After we complained, the staff acted immediately and stopped the nighttime use.
The place was very clean, the room was spacious with two comfortable beds, everything in the bathroom worked well and smelled nice. It’s next to the best supermarket in town for buying cans and other essentials for the Seven Lakes trip. They offered to pick us up in a taxi to the border for 20 USD, but that’s unnecessary because taxis wait there and charge 5 USD for the same ride. We also asked for a quote to go to the Seven Lakes and they said it would be 100 USD, but we found the same trip elsewhere for 70 USD. Bottom line: they’re a bit pricey.
Thanks a lot to O’gabek for arranging my tour to the 7 lakes; he was helpful and spoke good English.
