A spacious, nice room with a large balcony (with a washing rack). An extensive breakfast for Italian dishes. A pleasant host who gave good tips about nearby restaurants and how to catch the bus to Catania. The car was parked very safely. The stairs are a decent climb if you have heavy luggage, but the host helped out.

I’ve been a Booking user since 2017 with 40 bookings, and I expected them to verify guesthouses, B&Bs, or hotels. I opened two complaints about an unverified property, but they were closed with the explanation that the issue was “resolved in favor of the seller because the item was not damaged, different, or missing parts as you specified.” The B&B had serious privacy concerns: I spotted 9 cameras at first glance, but a deeper check revealed 15. I even suspected some might be in the rooms. The walls were covered with flyers listing rules, but none mentioned camera placement or footage storage. Breakfast was barely more than two croissants, and cameras were also in the breakfast area. The owner kept a constant eye on guests, making us eat quickly and leave. These problems echo many other reviews, making it feel like a Big Brother set.

Amaranda B&B is perfect for a relaxed, enjoyable stay. The location is great, especially if you drive, because there’s on‑site parking. The host is lovely and attentive, always ready to help. Our room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a fridge and complimentary water bottles waiting for us. The coffee maker in the room was a nice touch. Breakfast was a typical Italian spread, mainly sweet, but the fresh croissant was delicious. The train station is about a 20‑minute walk away, and there are nice restaurants within the same distance, especially if you like seafood. We enjoyed the walk, so distance wasn’t an issue. A grocery store is a 10‑minute walk, and the bus stop is even closer—about a 5‑minute walk. The local bus is convenient; you can tap your card on the bus to pay, and a ticket costs €1.40 for a 90‑minute journey. We also used Uber from Catania Centrale to Amaranda B&B, which cost us around €16. Nothing negative to mention.
