“It worked very well as a base for a visit to family in the Dales.”
The hotel is large and luxurious with an outstanding spa, making it convenient for a visit to a local family. It is pricey, especially the food.

We enjoyed a peaceful setting and a pleasant lake view from our room. The food was good, but the room was essentially just a Premier Inn room: it was small, had too much furniture, the mattress was very firm, and the pillow was also very firm, making it uncomfortable for both of us. When we arrived, the restaurant was fully booked for both evenings, and the bar was also booked for one of those nights; no warning was given that we should reserve in advance. The staff did arrange a booking for us and managed to squeeze us in at an early time.

The hotel and its spa were lovely, and the View Restaurant served good food, but the dinner service was slow.

Food freshly cooked at breakfast. The bedroom’s beautiful view. The staff in the view were slow to acknowledge that you were waiting to be seated and several walked past us without acknowledging us.The breakfast was lacking a fruit selection. I found it really disappointing that for my husband and I to swim in the hotel pool for an hour would cost £60!
