A very friendly and handy Bangladeshi guy took care of us, and everything was well organized; the owner was also awesome, arranging everything and being very helpful. The place felt a bit plain, but the breakfast was tasty. The room only had a small fridge and a kettle. The ceiling light kept strobing, so we had to turn it off.

The hotel is perfect! Everything was just great—excellent location, ocean view, all requests fulfilled in 5 minutes, free bicycles and snorkel masks! No drawbacks.

“Nie wieder und ich rate jedem von einem Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel ab!”

Mein Ehemann und ich sind total enttäuscht von diesem Hotel. Die Abflüsse im Badezimmer haben ekelhaft nach faulen Eiern gerochen. Der Mitarbeiter hat 15min Wasser laufen lassen und meinte jetzt stinkt es nicht mehr. Was nicht der Wahrheit entspricht. Es stank weiter. Die Klimaanlage war so installiert, dass das Kondenzwasser einem auf den Kopf /Rücken gestopft hat, wenn man auf der Toilette saß. Wirklich widerlich. Das Frühstück mussten wir im Zimmer essen, da Ramadan war. Eigentlich gar kein Problem. Leider besaß das Zimmer weder Stühle noch einen Tisch. Nach Nachfrage haben wir zwei Stühle bekommen um nicht im Bett essen zu müssen. Zum Frühstück wurde uns nicht mal ein Tee oder Kaffee angeboten. Auch das mussten wir erfragen. Am nächsten Tag haben wir dann 25 min nach unserem Frühstück einen Kaffee erhalten der aus warmen Wasser und Milch bestand. Es gab nicht mal Früchte. Am Abreise Tag war abgesprochen, dass wir um 8.00 Uhr unser Frühstück bekommen. Um 8.20 Uhr haben wir nachgefragt, ob wir noch etwas zu essen bekommen, da unser Transfer um 8.40 Uhr zum Flughafen ging. Unmöglich kein Intresse für den Gast, obwohl alles abgesprochen war. In den anderen Hotels wurde trotz Ramadan das Frühstück für die Gäste ganz normal serviert. Das weiß ich, da wir in einem anderen Hotel gefrühstückt haben. Von dem Mitarbeiter kam nichts. Alles musste erfragt werden. Es gab keine Strandhandtücher oder Fahrräder. Alles erst bei Nachfrage. Es wurden keine Tipps zu Aktivitäten oder sonstiges erzählt. Ich würde jedem davon abraten in dieses Hotel zu gehen. Es gibt so viele tolle andere Hotels auf dieser Insel. Bucht nicht im Kanbulo House

The place was great, the staff friendly, and the included breakfast was tasty. It was quiet and they even lent me a snorkel. The faucet water had that rotting‑egg smell but it disappeared. The pillows were uncomfortable, but that’s just being picky.

“This will definitely be my happy place to rejuvenate every once in a while.”

Kanbulo House immediately made me feel at ease. The staff are genuinely caring and attentive without being intrusive, and you can tell they put thought into every detail of the guest experience. The rooms are quiet and ambient, creating a peaceful space where you can truly unwind. The island itself is unlike any other I’ve seen—there are mangroves that feel almost untouched, shallow lagoons connecting to nearby resort islands, and quiet corners where you can watch seaplanes land without feeling rushed or crowded. The beaches are pristine and soft, the coral reefs vibrant, and everything feels balanced between nature and comfort. The meals here are another highlight—fresh, flavorful, and varied, with plenty of options to satisfy every taste. Outdoor dining with beautiful views makes every meal feel special, whether it’s fresh fruits and juices for breakfast or rich, flavourful dishes for lunch and dinner. Staying here reminded me of the authentic Maldivian way of life, in a way that’s both calming and quietly impressive
