The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the location was ideal. We got a room with a very uncomfortable sofa bed, and the cleaning of the room left something to be desired… it wasn’t clear that we would have this room.

Ten minutes’ walk from the train. The shower sink was clogged, and when the toilet was flushed the water rose up through the shower. There was no lift for older people. The gentleman who checked us in laughed when we asked for you.

Nothing special. We arrived and found a key box, but the owner hadn’t sent us the email with the pin to open it. We waited on the street with our luggage, hearing no news from the owner. We rang the bell for a long time, and a guest in another room opened it, called the owner, and gave us the pin over the phone. We consider this poor management; if the owner had sent the email the day before, we could have avoided that hassle. The apartment is very far from Plaza San Marcos, the city’s hub! The room was missing a coat of paint. The bathroom was tiny. For what we paid it doesn’t match. The owner never appeared. He did, however, ask for the €8 tourist tax by email. We won’t return!

I liked the location and the cleanliness. I didn’t like the reception. There were some oversights on my part in choosing the property that were pointed out to me in a somewhat rude manner.

We were looking for a simple, nice, and affordable place in a central but not overly touristy part of Venice, and this turned out to be exactly what we needed. The spot is great, within walking distance from the train station or San Basilio terminal and close to several Vaporetto stops. Plenty of good restaurants are nearby without the area feeling too crowded. Our host was very friendly. The bed was comfortable, the shared bathroom was clean and shared only between three rooms, and the shower was excellent. Air conditioning was a welcome relief in the heat. On our last day we could leave our luggage in the hallway until the afternoon, which was really helpful. We would definitely stay here again! The AC was a bit loud for sleeping, and a small table in the room would have been nice, but these are just minor things.
