The place was calm and very welcoming; we stayed for just one night. The owner greeted us and showed all the house features, and the language barrier was overcome with a translator, making everything simple. The bedrooms and common areas have heating, the living room has tatami in perfect Japanese style, and the futons are very comfortable. There are two bathrooms, a washer‑dryer, and a shower, plus plenty of body products. The kitchen is super well supplied! One tip: the house is surrounded by nature, the nearest supermarket is 40 minutes by car, so bring supplies and drinks. The only downside is that the bathrooms lack heating, so they’re a bit cold in winter.

This place was perfect for me, located in the heart of Wakayama yet far from any major towns, a very beautiful and peaceful spot with amazing views and nature all around.

The location was great with traditional rooms, and owner Ikeda san was very helpful in making my family feel comfortable; we got great advice on nearby activities, and I wish I had more time to explore the nature.

The location by the river was convenient; shared kitchen, fridge, and washing machine were useful. The only issue was the many insects around, which is expected in nature but might bother those who can’t tolerate them.
