“Absolute Katastrophe. Einmal und nie wieder.”
The water‑front bungalows provide a spectacular view, yet the first room’s air‑conditioning failed, forcing a change; the beds were rock‑hard, likely on mattresses over ten years old, and everything looked dirty and neglected. The bathroom resembled a cheap €5 dump, and breakfast was a disgrace—by 8:30 everything was gone, refills were grudging and already cold, there was no filtered coffee, only undrinkable instant coffee. Stay away; even one star is too generous.
“Charming Hotel with Some Minor Issues”
The setting on the Mekong is beautiful, and the hotel is spotless. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is good. However, the proximity of the bungalows means that you can hear everything going on next door, and the bathrooms are a bit functional.
“Nice Views, But Some Problems”
The views are great, the air is fresh, and the breakfast is okay. However, there are a few issues with the hotel - the bathroom is always flooded, the stairs are a bit of a climb, and the rooms don't have much soundproofing. Plus, the bike rentals are a bit limited, and the hotel can get a bit wobbly in strong winds.
The hotel is nicely located on the Mekong with spacious rooms and plenty of parking, but the breakfast was only okay, offering just instant coffee and a small selection of foods, so if you’re satisfied with a toast you’ll be fully satisfied.
“Lovely Resort with a Few Caveats”
The resort's breakfast spread was amazing, but it was definitely geared towards Thai tastes, which might not be ideal for visitors from the UK or US. On the other hand, the scenic walking and cycling track along the river was a lovely way to explore the surrounding area and get to the main town, which was about a 3-4 km walk. Just be sure to pack warm clothes for winter, as it can get pretty chilly in the evenings.
