The staff were kind and attentive, and even our dog seemed delighted; they explained everything we didn’t understand and handled everything wonderfully. The only downside was the smoking area right next to the dining hall, which left a tobacco smell in the hallway before meals and on the way out after eating.

The room was clean and the amenities were thoughtfully arranged. The front desk was often empty.

I checked in early and was treated politely. Nothing else to note.

Wanwan Paradise Premier Yamanakako is perfect for staying with a dog—most guests are also with pets, it’s quiet and relaxing, and occasional barking never bothers me. The standard room isn’t huge but more than adequate, and the rooftop dog run offers a stunning view of Mt. Fuji that’s ideal for photos. I didn’t mind it, but guests who are sensitive to dog noises might be; many dog owners head out for walks around 4:00‑5:00 am, and I was out at that time too, so it caused no problem for me.
