Everything was excellent: breakfast, evening meals, staff, location, value, room, and bathroom were all top‑class, though the floor creaks. The bed was clean and the furnishings nice. Since many guests use the hotel for hill walking in the Lake District, a drying room would be a useful addition.

The room is spacious with a comfy king bed, breakfast was tasty, and the room stocked plenty of tea and coffee. The shower pressure was very low and the water was warm.

Great hotel in the exact spot we wanted to be by the lake. The staff were very friendly , the room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfy. The food in the pub downstairs was really nice and the breakfast was excellent. The only small issue was the hot water . We wanted to have a nice soak in the bath after a long,wet walk but sadly the water was only warm which was a little disappointing

amazing breakfast- not the typical you expect. the rooms are clean and nice and the hotel is right at the start of the Buttermere and other amazing walks in the area
