The bed was extremely comfortable, far better than a Motel 6. The amenities—coffee, ice, etc.—were great, and the staff were always helpful. The room was very roomy and ideal for our large family. The bathroom area could have been cleaner; it looked like an older establishment, so I understand the floor stains, but the shower especially could have been cleaner.

The place was spotless and cozy, and walking to the Soo Locks was a breeze. When our car broke down, the staff quickly connected us with a reliable local mechanic who didn’t take advantage of our outsider status.

The room looked tidy at first glance, but once you stepped inside, the cleanliness was disappointing. The rocker/recliner was so grimy that we had to cover it with towels to use it; the arm and headrest were black with grease. The curtains were filthy and worn, making us think the rest of the room wasn’t clean either, just a facade.
