The miso beside the rice at dinner was delicious, and the steamed rockfish was also tasty. It was disappointing that the bathroom window was covered in spider webs and a bit dirty.

There’s a tiny park with Sakura trees and views of the Alps right outside the accommodation—don’t miss it. The place is pricey yet very basic.

I liked the small sofa and coffee table in the room, and it was an easy walk to the bus that goes to the gondola. They sold tickets at reception and let us park there before check‑in. The room had no shower or bath, no view, and breakfast only offered tea, no coffee; it felt a bit overpriced.

It’s literally sleeping on the floor! So don’t be surprised.

The staff are wonderful, helpful, kind and patient. The food they serve is fit for royalty, and I wish I had more time to spend with them. I’m getting a bit too old for futon sleeping, and my back struggles with it.
