Loved the Parador!

It ended up being a last‑minute fix because everything was booked out. The room was large and nice, but there was no balcony and it was very noisy. For 200 €/night, I would have expected more service from a single person. Breakfast would have cost an extra 20 €. The room was noisy, the window faced the garden where guests were playing cards… not a big deal, but as a tired pilgrim I want to sleep well for 199 €/night.

A beautifully restored historic building with very comfortable rooms. The bathrooms were especially nice (soaking in a tub after a long day on the Camino was amazing).

I was intrigued by the historic building, but honestly the best thing to do was just stop by the bar for a drink. The room was right above the reception, so every check‑in and check‑out chatter was loud enough to disturb me; it was a lot noisier than I expected. The cost felt steep for what I got, and breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate, so I had to pay extra. The breakfast I paid for turned out to be one of the worst I’ve ever had at a hotel: stale cheese and ham, a few citrus fruits and yoghurts, and hot dishes that were only available on order. When I ordered scrambled eggs, they tasted like dried eggs that had sat overnight, so I had to send them back.

The room’s furniture clearly needs an update – the sofa upholstery and other items look worn out.
